Cape Shores - Lewes, DelawareLighthouse Construction, Inc in conjunction with McInturff Architects recently finished the 3,995 S.F. Home located in Cape Shores. The Owner wished to provide a weekend retreat that would serve as a central gathering for the family. The three story five bedroom including a master suite home took only 10 months for completion and features a gorgeous view of the surrounding bay area. One of the homes many unique features can be seen before even entering the front door. Although a pool is traditionally featured in the back of the home the owners located it in the front courtyard as to allow for better views of the ocean and to abide to neighborhood and government regulations for pools in the area. The home also goes against typical thinking again by locating the three of the four bedrooms on the bottom floor allowing for more room upstairs for family gatherings and better views of the bay. The Owner had tasked the Architects along with the LCI team in developing the Great Room in the home the area of interest. They met this task with designing a two story great room with an exposed steel structure fitted with expansive window wall for views of the ocean and allowed for glass French Doors to open up onto an outside deck. The expansive window walls give the Owner and guests a beautiful view of the bay and occasionally the Cape May-Lewes Ferry. The first, second and third floor are all connected by a metal stairway fixed with cable rails and bamboo treads to match the bamboo flooring throughout the home. The home also features soap stone countertops and imported indies slate tile along with Grohe plumbing fixtures. The Owner along with McInturff Architects and LCI Homes really made this a home away from home.
