Ipe and Cedar Screen Porch

In Early 2011 Lighthouse Construction, Inc. was approached to help design and build a 352 square foot screened in porch located in Southern Delaware. The Owner’s request was to create a relaxed environment for the family to spend time together as well as entertain any number of guests. While keeping this relaxed environment the Owner also wished to create a design that would be truly unique. Lighthouse in working with the Owner decided to use Ipe as the main decking and trim for the porch to create that unique style and feel the Owner was looking for. Cedar was used to contrast the darker Ipe lumber. To achieve access to the deck from the home Lighthouse added a new 6/0 double French door off of the existing living room. A black aluminum framed screens system was then installed to ensure long bug free evenings throughout the summer.
